Wael Albayaydh

Dr.Wael Albayaydh has extensive business and academic experience. He holds a DPhil (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology (NYiT), and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan. In addition to his role at the Institute of AI, Dr. Albayaydh is an Associate Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. He is also a member of St Hilda's College and the Ethical Web and Data Architecture in the Age of AI (EWADA) program led by Sir Nigel Shadbolt and Sir Tim Berners-Lee. This initiative focuses on privacy-preserving and autonomy-respecting data processing within decentralized architectures such as Solid (Social Linked Data).

His research focuses on cybersecurity, AI in cybersecurity, and privacy concerns associated with smart homes. Wael has held several executive positions in leading ICT firms and mobile operators in the MENA region and is the founder of several successful ICT startups. His research interests also include cryptography, big data, and AI technologies, and he has engagements with the Alan Turing Institute in London, UK.
