Towera Moyo

Dr. Towera Moyo earned her DPhil (PhD) from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, where she was a member of the Human-Centred Computing research group. Her research interests focus on leveraging AI for social good, particularly in combating human trafficking. During her PhD, she investigated the impact of technology on human trafficking and designed innovative solutions to disrupt these activities online.
In addition to her role at the Institute of AI, Dr. Moyo serves as a consultant for the World Bank, where she advances her research on AI-driven trafficking detection and supports projects that promote ethical AI adoption in low- and middle-income countries. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, which she completed with Distinction.
